Platform: Windows (All Versions)

Two tasks can be performed with Secryptor: encrypt and decrypt files. If you have to send a file via email for example, you can encrypt it before sending it out. Thus, the file will be protected from snoopers. When the recipient gets the file, he can very easily decrypt said file.

Secryptor is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Windows Phone, Mac OS X, iOS. This means you can use Secryptor at home, on your Windows PC or Mac, and when you are on the go, on your Windows Phone, iPhone, or iPad. At the time of writing this, there’s no Android version – but the developer explained that one will be released very soon.

As mentioned above, you can use Secryptor to perform two tasks: encrypt and decrypt files. I bring that up because Secryptor’s interface features just two buttons: at the top there’s a button that you can use to encrypt files, and at the bottom there’s a button that you can use to decrypt files. It must be mentioned here that the interface provides support for multiple languages: English, German, Spanish, and Turkish.

Here is what you have to do to encrypt a file and save it locally:
Step 1 – select the file you want to encrypt.
Step 2 – a prompt will show up and ask you to choose where the encrypted file will be saved. You can choose to save the encrypted file to your Dropbox or to a local directory. Choose the latter option.
Step 3 – enter and repeat a password; click the “encrypt” button.
Step 4 – give a name to the encrypted file and choose the local directory where it will be saved.

Please note that Secryptor uses a powerful AES 256-bit key to encrypt files. A different key for each file that is encrypted.

Go get Secryptor and use it to easily encrypt and decrypt files. By encrypting files you can make sure that they are kept safe from snoopers.
